London Marathon 2025 – Sunday 27th April

On Sunday 27th April, Tash, Rory and JB will join 50,000 other runners for the London Marathon!  The difference though is that these 3 lucky runners are running for the MVA Society. The MVA Society is the first designated research charity to focus on the ultra-rare chromosomal condition Mosaic Variegated Aneuploidy (MVA) syndrome. The Society is creating information and support for patients & families, building an MVA community and will be funding a research program to look at treatment options (currently there are no treatments available). Between us, we are hoping to raise £15,000 to support the first stages of this research strategy.  But like running a marathon, to find a treatment you have to simply put one foot in front of the other and keep going. Here’s our 3 amazing athletes…

London Marathon Athletes

Tash Cornwell

It’s Tash’s first marathon! Her favourite running distance is the 100m sprint so getting the miles under her belt is key for her over the next few months.  However, with a structured training programme now in place she is in a great spot to get those long runs behind her and really enjoy the day!  Her target is a hugely respectable sub 4 hours!  C’mon Tash!!!

Rory Williams

Rory – “the whippet from Watford” – is the speedy one!  Looking at sub 3 hours (yes sub 3 hours - that’s sub 7 minutes/mile) you will have to make sure you get to the course early if you want to see him whizz by! Run well Rory!

Jonathan ‘JB’ Bracey

JB – the old man making up the team – is hoping to hobble around on his 1 new and 1 knackered hip. The joys of being in your 50’s. But, like last year, walking around a fabulous course in your home City isn’t really a hardship when you get support like you get in London. Aiming for sub 8 hours. You may need to bring a book if you want to wait to see JB hobble by!

Please do make a donation to this worthy cause if you can.  And please do try and come and support us on the day!  Post run/walk drinks and pasta will be at Shepherds Market after the run! Join us there too if you can.
